Restoring profitability to the oil industry

The Summit has dealt with the following topics (among others):

  • Where will oil prices stand in the future? In the short term? In the long term?
  • Upstream costs: how to assess and control operating costs and service costs
  • Will we see a new wave of Mergers and Acquisitions in unconventional activities?
  • What consequences will COP21 have for the oil industry?
  • What impact will the tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia have?
  • What will the evolution of oil demand be in Asia?
  • What is the situation in Latin America (Brazil, Venezuela)?

Major uncertainties are affecting the oil market and upstream projects are facing a number of challenges. The International Oil Summit has become one of the most important yearly events in this field, facilitating the exchange of ideas.

The 17th International Oil Summit has brought together CEOs and managers from the world's largest energy companies. Patrick Pouyanné (TOTAL), Abdallah Salem El Badri (OPEC), Amine Mazouzi (Sonatrach), Aldo Flores Quiroga (IEF), Mehdi Hosseini (IRAN-OCRC), Nordine Aït Laoussine (Nalcosa) have agreed to participate. IEA and a number of companies (BP, ENGIE, CGG, SAIPEM, TECHNIP, VALLOUREC ...) have also accepted to speak.
